mitel sx-2000-light Procomm Plus looking for printing help
« on: March 18, 2016, 12:19:06 PM »
Hello

Just started this job and I am working with a sx-2000 switch so to have a 3300 installed. I am trying to figure out how to print some forms out of the switch with Procomm Plus. Never worked with Procomm Plus so any help would be appreciated. Looking to print out "single line set assignment" and a couple more forms. But I have no idea how to do it. I have tried but with no success. This is a old dinosaur system for sure.

Oh wow.  Taxing my memory for sure.

There were some tricks to it when I was doing it if only because print to file crashed my laptop.

The command you use on the Mitel is "Fo Sing/po lpr3"

Then use the "Sho pr all" command to see if it queued to lpr3.
Next set your laptop to TTY emulation.  This sucks because it will screw up your screen.
Turn on logging.
Now enter "en pr/n"

It should start dumping to the screen.
It may stop for a while.  Let it set to see if it starts up again.
If it doesn't turn off logging then hit CTL-q (Might be CTL-C I cant remember)

Set your emulation back to VT100 or TV120 and do a CTL-Q CTL-W to refresh the screen.

I used to use 2 rs232 connections an open 2 sessions of procomm. Set one to receive ascii text with a long timeout. Start the receive and then do the form print to the printer port LPR1

I am in the same boat, trying to get all forms to print so I can transfer to a 3300.  Is there a command to print all CDE Forms with all instances?

First declare where you want to print to.
LPR1 or LPR3

LPR1 is your printer port.
LPR3 will print to the serial port.

The command is "fo all"

If you're printing to lpr3 then you have to enable it with the "en pr" command.

Use control-c to stop.
