Closed for Holiday call flow
« on: December 23, 2015, 11:28:58 AM »
I'm trying to make sure the Mitel system will play a message that we are closed tomorrow and Friday due to the holiday.  How would I make this happen?  I've attached a screen shot from the NuPoint call flow.

jsnapp,
I would say click on "Schedule Holidays" and then click on "Holiday Schedule" another window (As shown below) should pop up, for here you would set up your holidays. (Note: It may make it easier for you to enable "Reoccurance" so that it happens automatically every year.)

Also ensure to click "Save" on the main form of the Call Flow (Critical). Hope this helps ya out. Happy Holidays!

Thanks,
-Iron

Thank you!  I got that saved on both.  I was more concerned about the "Disabled" in the call flow.

jsnapp,
One thing I may have overlooked is the very 1st option of "Override". I've never used this myself so I'm not sure what effect this has when configuring things. Ya may want to test it out quickly by configuring TODAY as a holiday, then once you know what effect it has remove that holiday.

Thanks,
-Iron

jsnapp,
Looks like the "Override" is a manual switch (See Below). Looks like you may have to manually click "Over-Ride Enabled" in order for the Schedule Holiday to be in effect. My recommendation is to kill that option, but that means you'll have to re-configure the entire call flow, since it resides at the very top......Yikes! (Use Caution!)

Thanks,
-Iron

The call flow was done by someone else prior.  I get to manage and maintain now.  You are a good trainer.  Do you offer that on the side?
Or steer me where I could get training for this beast of a system.

jsnapp,
Thanks, much appreciated! I've been in the telecom game for just over 10 years now. Mostly dealing with NEC's (Key Systems/PBX's). I've only been doing Mitel's (5000's & 3300's) since about Feb 2014. Sorry I don't offer training on the side. I intend to get my NuPoint certification something this year. With regards to steering you to "official training", I think you (and correct me if I'm wrong guys) have to be employed by a Mitel dealer, to receive their training/certification. Otherwise you can search on You Tube for general "how to's" and whatnot. There's been a few decent videos that I've seen on there pertaining to Mitel MCD's and NuPoint.

Thanks,
-Iron

I tested earlier this afternoon.  It worked, but it didn't say closed for the holiday.  It played the normal after hours greeting.
I don't know if they have a holiday greeting.

jsnapp,
Take a look at your "Menu Holiday", look at the "Action ID" this is the recording that will play while holiday is running. Is it the same as any of your other menu's? (My guess would be "Yes") You have two options to change it out:

Option 1:
1) Obtain a .WAV file of your "Holiday Greeting" and upload it.
 a) Note: Must a .WAV and the format must be 8-Bit, 8KHz u-law or a-law

Option 2:
1) From a phone access the voicemail for this box
2) Once in press star (*).
3) System will say: "Enter in the ID of the menu or Message Action to record."
4) Dial <Action ID> then press pound (#).
5) Press 7 to begin recording.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,
-Iron
