Mitel 5000 & caller ID in hunt groups
« on: December 18, 2015, 05:05:07 PM »
We currently have hunt groups setup for our phone system.  When a call comes in it displays the caller ID on Call Key 1, but if that person is on the line, and a second call comes in, it goes to the phantom and does not display the caller ID for the second line.

Is there a way to display the caller ID when the person is on the line and a second call comes in?

A hunt group, by definition, doesn't "ring" an extension with a second call because that extension already has a call...theoretically the new call doesn't yet belong to that extension.  If you want to see caller ID you'd need to ring direct, not via HG.  Maybe ring the ext with sys fwd for ring-no-answer to the phantom instead, if HG only has one real member?

Yes, each phone has one direct line with a phantom to have 2 lines

So each DID is mapped to an extension?  No hunt group involved?  No system forward busy?  In that case you should see caller ID on second ringing call, as long as call is calling in on same number.  I'm not sure what you're trying to do with the phantom extension...generally you'd want all calls to ring to the extension, no phantom needed.  Calls will appear on call 1, call 2 etc.
