Mivoice Conference Phone
« on: November 01, 2015, 08:09:51 PM »
Hello Folks,

We just finished setting up a Mitel 5000 on a converged network but we are unable to get the Mivoice conference phone to register with server.  We cannot find much information online on how to register this phone or for initial setup.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
JRice

On the 5000 under PHONES, create a SIP PHONE.  in SYSTEM/DEVICES AND FEATURE CODES/SIP PEERS/SIP PHONE GROUPS/<the group>/CONFIGURATION, set MAXIMUM NUMBER OF CALLS to 4.
At the phone, under SETTINGS/ADVANCED (default pass is "admin") set TIME AND DATE to use SNTP.  under SYSTEM SETTINGS set server address...weird note: can't use leading zeros, so enter 10.10.10.50 (for example), not 010.010.010.050.  Also enter the extension you created in 5000 as USERNAME, LOGIN NAME and PASSWORD.
That should do it.  Should pick up everything else from DHCP (unless you need to enter manually)

Those settings still are not bringing our set up.  for the IP Address are you referring to under the Sip Settings? Would that be our System address of 192.168.200.201:5060?  Also the set use to load up plugged into the back of one of our 5320 sets but not will only load up on the Switch itself?

Thanks again,
JRice

One source of confusion sometimes can be VLAN.  The conference phone doesn't use the Mitel options such as 43 or 128 during boot, so if you have a voice VLAN that the PBX is on it might not find it.  It is possible to manually program static IP and VLAN into the conference unit if you need to.
And yes, the SERVER ADDRESS under SIP SETTINGS is the IPV4 address of the 5000.  If you're also running a PS1, use that address instead.

JRice,

Here are the two documents you need to figure out how to program the UC 360 conference phone. You may not be at the latest version of software and older versions do have some issues with the 5000. If you are not at the latest version then just get that from your dealer who sold you the phone.

Thanks,

TE
