Just upgraded to Windows 10 at home and...
« on: August 24, 2015, 07:27:55 AM »
MiCollab fired right up and connected fine.  This was the standard Windows 10 download upgrade in place.  So, MiCollab was already running on my Win 7 x64 setup.

Nothing more to report.

We upgraded 3 tech laptops last week. Haven't had issues with MiCollab Advanced, MiCollab Audio/Web/Video client, Mitel System Administrator, or MiVoice Business Software Installer.

In fact the biggest issue was that after in-place upgrades it reset Windows Firewall rules, so we had to re-enable some of those.

But can I keep IE8 and Java 6u45 to talk to those old 3300's?!?!  8)

BTW, had Windows 10 on trial on two machines that had 7 Pro (Elitebook 6930p and a Probook 6550b), they worked fine for a couple weeks, no application related issues, but then started giving the black login screen of death... you would login fine, then the screen would just go black with nothing but a mouse cursor. Nothing we did would fix it, tried tons of solutions online but nothing seemed to be able to recovery it. Finally got the 6550b to roll-back to Win 7 and it is still running, but the 6930p had to be reloaded from scratch.

Not that I think Win 10 is bad, but after those experiences we are going to give it a good 6 months before any more "trials".

My engineer and I have the exactly same model Toshiba laptops. He gets a blue frowny face every once in a while, but I think we have different display drivers.

Yeah, it certainly seems like drivers are going to be the thing to fix in the coming months.

Micollab release 506 (newest release) is causing issues with Softphone on Windows 10 where I cannot dial any number through the client without the software crashing on me.

I've been able to talk to 3300's running release 9.0 with IE 11 and the latest version of Java, you just have to fiddle around with the security settings in IE and Java a bit. Add the IP of the 3300 to the Intranet zone in IE and the security exceptions list in Java and you should be good.
