IP paging unit in static environment
« on: August 21, 2015, 01:46:34 PM »
We have a 200 ICP with a paging unit that has worked fine for years.  Recently we had to set the 2nd site phones to static IPs since we could not get DHCP to work across the new MPLS.  The phones work, but the paging does not. I believe the unit is a 5485, but have a tech out there looking at it to verify.  Is there a way to set the paging unit for static IP?

Short answer, no. IP Page adapters have to use DHCP.

Just take an old ip phone that still works..make it static....take out screws from back and super glue speaker wire or jumper wire to speaker contacts...run wire through on of the many holes in back of phone...connect to page audio...put phone in page group...only thing is phone can't be used hands free or it will come through paging....will also work for night ringing bell
