How to Make Ring Group name display on overflow
« on: August 19, 2015, 07:12:04 PM »
Hi guys,

If I have two ring groups, lets say 5000 and 5001 and both of these are labelled with a name in the Telephone directory.

RG 5000 has an overflow point of RG 5001. When the call reaches members of RG 5001 on their sets it no longer displays the name of the RG as labelled in the Telephone Directory but rather 'From 5000 NO ANS'

I need this to instead display the 5001 RG label instead, is this achievable? I cannot use a NameTag HG at the beginning as this passes its DN all the way through the flow so when a member answers a call they are then unable to transfer the call to another user and have it left at their VM box if they do not answer, it instead returns to the Name Tag HG DN

Since it's forwarding then that is what's going to display.

There might be a 'hack' that you can use but you'd have to try it to see if it would work the way I'm thinking.
I've never tried this so please let me know if you do.

1) Create an ACD path and that queues to it for 1 second.  Then interflow it where you need it to go.
2) Call reroute the RG to the ACD path.

I'm thinking this may give you what you need.

Thanks for this. Just got around to testing this as the need to do this has popped up again.

Putting the ACD path which queues for 1 second and interflows to the second RG works. However on the ringing phone in RG 2 the display shows as 'FROM XXXX'

Where XXXX = the path Dialable number. I need it to display the Path name.

This works exactly the same in this scenario:

RG 1 --> Overflow to ACD Path --> ACD Path Unavailable answer point --> RG 2

This works perfectly also, however it still only shows on a member of RG 2s phone 'FROM Path Number'

I need it to show 'FROM PATH Name'

Any bright ideas?  :P

hi

same problem.

i want DD to RG1 (display caller id) to overflow on 5 secs to RG2 (display "NAME") to overflow on 5 secs to a RG3 (display caller id) with no overflow (same phones as RG1).

Both RGs members are Multi-appearance keys. Not used Name-tags HGs before but they dont have overflow settings and dont allow RG as members.

These nothing is COS i can set on RG2 to get name displayed?
