Turning off LED's on the Mitel phones
« on: August 19, 2015, 01:25:23 PM »
Hello Fellow Mitel Techs,
I'm about 99% sure the answer is "No you cannot" here, but thought I'd ask anyway.

I have a customer that reports when they use the "Mute" button, (See below)

that it does not light up at all.....ever. The button and feature works just fine and dandy, just no light. My initial thought was that the LED is bad on the phone itself. But was wondering if maybe in the MCD somewhere the LED's can be turned off. So the question is, can they? Or am I on the right track in thinking the LED may be bad?

Thanks,
-Iron

**UPDATE**
I ended up swapping out the MAC addresses for a brand new phone and the Mute button lights up and now works! Which tells me it wasn't the system (MCD) settings (or it would have followed) and I'm not aware of any settings on the phone itself that allows you to kill LED's....so, this phone will be RMA'd back to Mitel.

Thanks anyway guys.  :)

Thanks,
-Iron

There are no settings in the MCD that can turn off those LED's. There is an option in the CoS regarding key lamps for logged out users, but this won't affect these mute/message key.
