Call forwarding external destination

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping this is a simple little issue, and that it is just me that have forgotten to configure something.
I'm trying to allow users to forward their extension to an external destination (cell phone most likely)

Scenario.
If an internal extension calls the extension that have been forwarded, then the call goes through to the external destination.
If an external number call the forwarded extension, then they gets forwarded to Voicemail.

I've checked COS
Call Forwarding/Rerouting
   Call Forward - Delay  0
   Call Forward No Answer Timer  15
   Call Forward Override  No
   Call Forwarding (External Destination)  Yes
   Call Forwarding (Internal Destination)  Yes
   Call Forwarding Accept  Yes
   Call Reroute after CFFM to Busy Destination  No
   Call Forwarding Reminder Ring (CFFM and CFIAH only)  No
   Disable Call Reroute Chaining On Diversion  No
   Group Call Forward Follow Me Accept  No
   Group Call Forward Follow Me Allow  No
   Third Party Call Forward Follow Me Accept  No
   Third Party Call Forward Follow Me Allow  No
   Use Held Party Device for Call Re-routing  Yes

There's a couple of things that can cause that.
1) In the COS of the trunks Public Network To Public Network Allowed must be enabled.
2) The COR of the trunks do not allow access to the ARS route.
  - there are some other things but these are most likely.

If the COS is ok then the best way to deal with this is to to program a system speed dial to go to your destination.  Be sure that "overrides toll security" is enabled.

I would avoid changing the COR of the trunks if you don't have to.  The trunks COR is another way that is used to secure your system from toll fraud.

But wouldn't this mean that I would have to program all external extensions ?
This is something that I would rather let the users do, as it would otherwise become a never ending task.

I checked the public to public trunk for the COS, and it is set to Yes
Then I looked at COR groups for the extension that I am using to test with

This is something that I would rather let the users do, as it would otherwise become a never ending task.

That's a security decision that only you and your company can make based on business needs.


The COR you need to look at is the COR of the trunks.  Not the phone.

Hi Ralph,

I completely agree, I just have a feeling that management are going to want their employees to be able to control this.
Issue have been brought to their attention.

As for locating the COR for trunks, then that would be under Trunk Attributes correct ?
