Mystery Messages
« on: July 30, 2015, 12:21:06 PM »
Somehow, callers have been leaving messages on our 900 system administrator voicemail account.  I have no idea how this could be happening.  Any clues?

Do you have a DDI pointing to 2500/Voicemail?

I'd check that first.

Is the mailbox flagged as unlisted? Callers could be finding it in the directory, and "admin" sounds like a good place to leave messages.

MMarble,

Make sure that the flag Designate This Mailbox for Play-Only is set to Yes.

Voice Processor > Devices > Mailboxes > 900: Designate This Mailbox for Play-Only: Yes

That way they won't be able to leave messages if they get there.

Also you may want to hide it from people using that are using the Directory.

Voice Processor > Devices > Mailboxes > 900 > Directory Information: Unlisted: Yes

Thanks,

TE

Thanks so much for the feedback. :) I've changed the "Designate This Mailbox for Play-Only" setting and unlisted the mailbox in the directory.  There haven't been any additional messages since last night. ;D
