Strange VM/MWI button & lamp behavior on 5330/NuPpoint
« on: July 24, 2015, 10:58:07 AM »
Hi gang,
This is an odd one... I have one 5330e (of about 140) that is doing some weird stuff.

a. pressing the envelope key dials another person's extension (not 800, as it should) I don't know of any way to specify what the envelope key does, so I wouldn't even know where to check if it is programmed correctly.

b. even after checking NuPoint voicemail by calling 800, and deleting the messages, the MWI and envelope key are still blinking.

I power-cycled the phone last time this happened, and that fixed the weird misdial, but this time it didn't. She says it worked yesterday, but today it's being weird. No changes have been made to the 3300 or NuPoint.

Anybody heard of this?
TIA,
-dg

Sounds like a station callback.  Just complete the callback by having the dialed party answer it.  MWI can be set from places other than voicemail.

Thanks Ralph, and localhost..

That was it. We don't use that function at all here, so it slips my mind that the capability is still available & people accidentally use it. I'm disabling 'call me back' altogether so we don't run into this again.

Thanks again,
-dg
