PRI card failure after system upgrade
« on: May 14, 2015, 12:59:35 PM »
Hi All

New on the forums posting, but been around and about for a while!

Yesterday I upgraded our 5000 HX system from 5.1SP1 to 6.0SP3 - have done this upgrade on two other 5000HX systems in our other offices with no problems; however this one refuses to bring the PRI card up.  No errors are reported by the system as all, but when you look at the status, it reports "Bay 1: Offline"  and no calls can be made in and out of the system.  I've re-seated the card, cold rebooted the system (twice), and also re-uploaded the firmware again just to make sure it's taken it ok.  I've fitted another Dual T1/E1/PRI card and this takes the firmware upgrade and comes online straight away - the moment I fit the old card it fails.  On the card I get the normal "remove" light indicated" when first inserted, then followed by the "BUSY_1" LED and the "REF/CLK" LED on the RJ45 port for a few seconds, before everything goes off, and the cycles restarts.  I'm also getting a message on the display "Starting: dtc1_1_ex..."   Of course, the NTE is showing error lights pointing to the equipment (X21 and ALARM lights).

The log is repeating the following cycle :

[14May15 17:06:36] dt1_app[INFO]: Dual T1/E1/PRI Application Started...
[14May15 17:06:36] dt1_app[INFO]: Loading Dual T1/E1/PRI firmware...

[14May15 17:06:40] dt1_app[INFO]: Finished loading firmware.
[14May15 17:06:40] dt1_app[INFO]: Hardware revision: 0x03.
[14May15 17:06:40] dt1_app[INFO]: FPGA revision: 0x02.
[14May15 17:06:40] dt1_app[INFO]: DPR: Started...

[14May15 17:06:40] dt1_app[INFO]: Software Watchdog Thread: Started.

[14May15 17:06:57] dt1_app[CRIT]: Caught signal 15...
[14May15 17:06:57] dt1_app[INFO]: ...Dual T1/E1/PRI Application terminated from 'application_basics_t::sig_term_isr'

[14May15 17:07:19] dt1_app[INFO]:

Can anyone advise or has anyone seen this problem?  would prefer not to have to swallow the cost of a new card if it is either a bad flash or a failed card itself.  I have a 5.1 system that I will be receiving from another office next week that I am intending on trying the card in to see if that works - has anyone else found PRI cards to be picky on the 6.0 upgrade?

Any help gratefully received! :)

Amaze_IT,

I would say that you need to get a replacement card and would get Mitel to get you an advance replacement for it. The Critical Error: Caught signal 15... is not one I have seen before, but since a replacement card fixes the issue then most likely the card has a problem that can't fix.

Sorry,

TE

Thanks for the reply Tech Electronics - I'm hoping that the 5.1 system might kick it into life again.  Seems wierd as it clearly isn't a bad upgrade as the other card came straight up.
