VM Pilot
« on: May 05, 2015, 04:36:29 PM »
I have 20 numbers set a side for the number of  vm ports. I have gotten some complaints about the number of times it rings to get to vm. We have grown over the last few years and have 300 plus folks give or take. All our vm goes to one box using embedded does anyone have any suggestions for how many vm ports we should have? I'm not sure how many I can add or if I can add any at all.

thanks,

I have 20 ports handling 500 people no issues reported (with an additional 10 ports used for rads)

But usage will vary.

Is the issue people calling in to check their voicemail or is it how long its taking to forward callers to voicemail? (I'm wondering if its more a complaint about the call forward no answer timer)

Hi Ghost,

It's apparently the amount of rings it takes from the time they hit their flashing vm icon until the system picks up. I have never had it take longer than a ring but they tell me it's up to ten rings sometimes.

Thanks,

You may want to call each port individually to be sure they are all answering ok.

Ralph,

Thanks sure enough half way through I stumbled upon one that just rings and vm system never picks up. The rest of the numbers the system picks up after one ring. What would cause this and how do I correct it?

thanks,

I don't know the cause but here's what I'd do:

Use the remote DND FAC and put it in DND.

Schedule a reboot of the system and then take it out of DND the next morning.
That should clear it.
