Easy Method to Programming Keys
« on: April 15, 2015, 02:27:46 PM »
Hello Mitel Techs,
Is there anyway to import key programming? (e.g. Excel) I was looking for a way to do so , but thus far....nothing. My complaint is that it takes so long when going from key to key. Especially when you got a 5340 and the customer wants all keys remapped. It's absolutely painful going from key to key.

Thanks for any info.

-Iron

I'm familiar with the:

However my company is a "Hosted Mitel Service Provider" so connecting locally is not an option for me. This would probably be my go to tool as on my phone (locally) it works great!

Thanks,

Do you have access to the controller for programming?

Learn to use the CSV inport/export files.
I use them all the time to update mass amounts of keys.

Just remember it's best to only have the buttons you want to change, especially when dealing with hot desk that has 96 or whatever. I always strip it down.

When adding a button to mutliple user, I put only the buttons needed and the values. If you try to do all, you'll find out why  :(

In general, I usually create an upload to blank the keys 1st.  - only the ones I'm changing - and then upload the changes.  It just seems to work better with SDS errors for some reason.
But bear in mind, this may delete all members of a hunt group of keys, so you have to be cautious of that.
With speed dial keys you don't have to do this.

Also, you don't have to delete the labels.  A button can be labeled without having anything assigned.
