NTP Force Sync
« on: March 24, 2015, 03:56:50 PM »
If I change the NTP IP address on the PBX but the time is still off from my PC to phone is there a way to force the PBX to sync up to the address I entered? Both my phone and PC are pointing at the same NTP server and should be spot on but the phone is a few minutes behind.

Thanks,

They will never completely match. Mitel's approach has always been that the time on the phones is a "representation of time, and not to be used as an accurate time keeping device."

Picking up the handset of the phone will force the phone to re-sync to the controller though.

To Expand on the previous comment, Phones do not use NTP, the controller uses NTP then the Phones talk to the controller periodically, if yous search back a few weeks you will find a full explanation of this in detail.
