Hotelsoft/Wynguest software not communicating with Mitel 3300ICP
« on: February 23, 2015, 06:06:49 PM »
I am having issues with a hotel setup.
The hotel uses Wynguest/Softhotel as their reservation software.
They have a server, with a 4 port serial hub(USB) connected to it, that all the ipockets are plugged into.
The ethernet cables from the ipockets then go into a cisco managed switch.
The mitel 3300 is also connected to this switch on the same VLAN.
I am able to ping the ipockets aswell as the Mitel.
Does anyone have a breakdown or diagram of exactly how this should be setup?
Should I be using null modem cables from serial port to ipockets?
Should I be using crossover cables from ipockets to switch?

In general you will use straight thru cables from the iPockets to the serial ports.

Use the attached PMS system emulator from Mitel to test the iPocket connections, if you can talk to the 3300 with no issues with it, then it's on their end, if it doesn't work, your iPockets or 3300 are not setup correctly.

Pretty much with PMS interfaces we verify they work at the iPocket, and go no further... from there the PMS vendor handles it.
