IP User Licenses

If I go and buy a Mitel 5312 handset off of Amazon, would that work?  We have a bunch of IP licenses on our 3300 controller.

Our current vendor says we need an IP user license (which we have) on the controller and another license for the handset.

You didn't say what version of software you have.
Check your licenses and see if you have "IP Device" licenses as well as "user licenses".
If you see IP Device licenses then you'll need one of them to program it.
If not, then as long as you have a user license then the phone will work.

My bad.

Release level: 6.0 SP3
Active software load: 12.0.3.15

Also, I do not see any spot in the license and option selection form for IP Device, just IP users.

You're good with that version.

IP User license is all you need to fire up a phone.

Device licenses are now free. (Although user licenses are more expensive than they used to be, trade off I guess)

User licenses can now also be used for SIP or Mitel IP Phones where as previously there were separate licenses for SIP.
