Call screening question
« on: January 18, 2015, 08:01:45 PM »
Hi everyone,
A customer asked us to configure call screening for some extension. They would like calls to be transfered to the receptionnist hunt group when some extensions are dialed from the main CRA. Next, receptionnists would transfert the call to the boss (or not!).

How would you program this?

Marcolive,

Is the caller dialing the extension directly or is there a button press or are they using the built-in dial by name directory? It basically depends on how they are reaching the person and what would be acceptable to the new call flow.

Thanks,

TE

Yes, some people know the extension number so they would dial it from the main auto attendant. They would like to block it and transfert the call to the receptionnist.

Marcolive,

Alright, so if they are allowed to dial the extension you have about three options.

1. Change the persons extension and then create a HG with that extension that rings the operator and recalls out to a CRA that times out immediately to the persons mailbox. The time on this is flexible, but it is best to keep it the same as a normal transfer to VM.

2. Create a system forwarding point that goes to the operator/secretary of that person. Then create another forwarding path on their phone that forwards transfers from VM to the new forwarding point and if they don't answer have the second forwarding point be VM.

3. Create a secondary extension key of the person on the operators phone so it rings the operator whenever it rings the persons phone. This is a personal secretary option that usually works if there is only one secondary key for the operator/secretary to monitor.

Thanks,

TE
