How to auto dial 9 for an extension on Mitel 3300?
« on: January 15, 2015, 07:53:38 PM »
Is there a way to have an extension (ONS) to auto dial 9?

We have many fax with a lot of number program without the 9 before dialing that I don't want to change.

Thanks

Don't know if this will work but...from the help files;

To program an analog device to hotline to an external number:

1.Program an exact ARS route to the external number (for example: 901291436888 with 0 digits to follow).

2.Program a speedcall to the external number (for example: speedcall 4000 to 901291436888).

3.In the associated directory number form program the extension number to hotline to the speedcall. For example directory number 2232, Associated Type - Hotline, Associated Number 4000 (speedcall to the external number).

So if you do step 1 as just a 9 and use a digit mod that doesn't strip any numbers and then program the speedcall as 9 do the rest it may work. I have never tried it BTW so...

I think the above will depend on trunk type.
You may get away with it on analog trunks as DTMF will continue to send on the line and the exchange should detect it.

Not sure what will happen on digital trunks, I'm sure I have tried it and it didn't work.

This might work for you - unless you have directory numbers that start with a 1.

1) Create a new route using the same trunk group as your normal outbound route.  Use a digit mod that does not absorb any digits.
2) Create a new ARS digit string of 1+10 digits to follow and point it to your new route.

Now any phone, including your ONS port should be able to dial 1+xxx+xxx+xxxx.

This should only be a problem if you have either extensions or feature access codes that start with a 1.

With some creativity that is possible. :) Use a trunk connection for as a loop. Based on COR send the Fax through that connection and add the 9.
