Hi,

I'm a network admin that's now the phone admin...so...not sure how to do the following:

Block local extensions from dialing 2 specific toll-free numbers.

I've dug around the manuals so I *guess* it has something to do with COR and ARS, but beyond that I am pretty green at this stuff.

Any help is appreciated...even if it is just a link to another site.

My tech specs are:
Mitel Communications Director
    Release level: 6.0 SP1
    Active software load: 12.0.1.24
    Inactive software load: Not available.
    System relink: No relink has been applied.
    Call Control relink: No relink has been applied.
    Platform: CX-II, 512MB of RAM

If you need to block 2 specific numbers then I suspect the easiest thing to do is to create a new route that either points to an invalid trunk or has a restrictive COR.  Either/Or it may be a bit much to program if you're not experienced with the system.

Yes, PBX systems are not my strength.

Could you point me to some online documentation that may help? Preferably a step-by-step  :-[

You're on track for sure.
What I'm not sure about is if it will allow you to assign a number to a route list that doesn't have any routes in it.
Give it a shot.

It look like you might be using Firefox on a Mac to make this change, am I correct?

If so, I'm not sure Mac Firefox is supported. I know that depending on the load Windows Firefox is, but not sure about Mac.

I've had issues like what you're seeing when using IE not in compatibility mode so thats what led me down this thought.

Yes, using Mac and Firefox...which the server says is the only supported browser for Mac.

So, I'll try from windows.

I suspect it won't work as there is no routes in the routes list...as Ralph pointed out earlier.

Next step would be to create some routes in the route list and then try to apply it.

Build a route with an existing trunk group and give it a COR that restricts everything and allocate the number to that route. Worked for me when I just tried it.

Great!

So here is what I am going to try to do:

1. Create Route
2. Point Route list to that route as 1st choice route
3. Add an ARS digits dialed for the TF to block and select termination type "List" and choose the route list I created above as the termination number

the COR, however, is not something I have created before so I will have to read up on that first.

You don't have to create one just use one of the ones that have 1-64 in it (or whatever the max value is now...)
I would just create a route with a valid line group and use that. The only real change will be the COR setting; get that from the COR group lists.

Ok, that kinda went over my head, so I will have to try to figure that out first.

Another thing I just found was "Intercept Handling" that might also work?

Originally the issue was internal local extensions calling our TF when they could just dial the switchboard extension so, if I can intercept all extensions calling the TF and re-route to a local extension that would also be a solution.

Anyways, have a LOT to learn about configuring this system, but for sure, your help is really appreciated!

Intercept Handling isn't going to do anything for you here.  You use that after the call is 'intercepted/blocked'.
