Inter-tel 5000 VoIP endstation licenses
« on: January 12, 2015, 08:40:45 AM »
All,
Is there any way to get IP endstation licenses for the Inter-tel 5000 systems? I have two different systems that have IPRC cards, but apparently no licenses installed.
Thanks!

The IPRC cards are for the Axxess platform, not 5000/HX platforms. They can be used to support IP endpoints and/or IP networking between systems.

You are correct...it is an Axxess platform.
Is there a way to get licenses for the IP endpoints?
Thanks

I believe those licenses have been discontinued with the Axxess reaching end-of-life dates with Mitel. There may be dealers/distributors with inventory they would be willing to sell, but I have no idea on that.

Don't you just change the port on the IPRC to be an endpoint?

You can use an older IPRC card set to v1.5.  This will allow you to use 770.4500/4600 and 550.8660 phones without a license.

Otherwise you will need to go to your originating dealer and see if Mitel is still selling CAT A ip licenses.

Here is the detail from the IPRC card in question. Not sure, but it looks as if this card is already below the v1.5 version...Is this maybe more a function of the overall system version?
Thanks

Ours is;

IP Resource Card (IPRC)
Version:  9.0.0
Build Date and Time:  Wed Nov 17 2004 17:09:17
Boot Version:  1.2.3
Boot Build Date and Time:  Mon Oct 22 2001 16:23:31

If you go into Devices and change one to an IP Phone, setting the MAC address, you should be able to log the phone on.

Good luck!

Uh..when I do that, I get a license error message on the phone when it boots and the system becomes unresponsive to DB Studio for around 30 minutes before I can start a successful session again. System is still up, and I can telnet to the CPU, but can't run DB Studio on it...This has been consistent response on two other systems that didn't have sufficient licenses for the IP endpoints as well...
Thanks
