Relink Training
« on: January 05, 2015, 04:09:09 PM »
Does anyone remember seeing training on how to apply a relink patch?
Maybe that's now part of the in class training but not updates.

Is there something on line?

That has never been part of a training. If you've received a Relink the Mitel Support engineer told you where to put the file and what to do next.
For Call Control a relink should be named relink.run and must be placed in the DB folder of the system. There can only be one! A reboot must be done to start using the relink. It might de visible after the reboot in the about software information and should always be mentioned in the telnet version.

Thanks, that's what I thought.
The problem came up when we were given a relink file and I asked the engineer where to put it.
He basically told my boss that I had no idea what I was doing and that was part of tech training to know what to do.
I didn't think so but then again my originally tech training was way back on version IPC 3.0.   They didn't  have "relink" abilities then and I don't ever remember seeing that training in any updates.

He finally sent us the instructions.  All is good.

That's a bit harsh, if he saw what you do for others on these forums he would know that you are very capable.
