Strange things happening...3300... help!?
« on: December 22, 2014, 01:03:27 PM »
Hey guys (and gals)...
My question regards calls into the system.
When an external number calls into the system, i.e. cell phone or land line or whoever... and they dial the 7 digit number (DID, etc), it will ring and ring and ring and hit vmail, but the 5330/5340 ip set that is associated, never rings. If a person internally calls the 5 digit extension, it rings just fine. I am having trouble finding the fix for this.

On a secondary note, we are having similar issues with the fax machines on this mcd asu as well. Where the 7 digit dialed number doesn't work, both in or out, but the 5 digit dial does? This is only happening on a few of the locations and not all of the clusters.
Please help   :o

I don't know if this means anything, but... when I call the extension in question using the Xtn only method, it rings 4 full rings prior to going to Vmail. If i call the 7 digit DID number, it has 4 sets of double/half rings. Not sure if this means something...

I tried this method on other working numbers on same system/cluster and both ways are full rings (not double half rings).

Is the phone registered to the same PBX the trunks are on?
If no, check the trunking PBX and check smdr logs for the incoming call.
It may give you some more insight to what the call is doing.
