Call Forward IP Extension to Mobile
« on: November 14, 2014, 12:24:48 PM »
Hi All,
I have an issue where a user with an IP extension uses his "Blue Settings" key to do a call forward to his mobile phone, which works and rings the mobile phone, the issue is that voicemail doesn't seem to be working correctly. This customer would like it to go to his Mobile carrier's voicemail, only is seems to be routing back to their MS Exchange UM, almost like it is supervising the call. Is there another call forwarding option I can create for him that will work better (Feature Codes, etc.)

Thanks,
-Iron

It is supervising the call.
Since the trunks provide call supervision the system will wait X seconds to see if the call is answered.  If it isn't then it will forward to VM based on your call forwarding timer of the COS or system options depending on if you're using the call rerouting second alt.

There are three ways to deal with this.
1) extend the call forward no answer timer.
2) Have the cell phone carrier shorten the time it takes for them to forward to VM.
3) Send the call out trunks that do not have answer supervision.  (Loop Start Trunks)

If you go with option 1, copy the current COS to a new unused one to make the change and assign that one or it will be a global change.

We have the exact same problem with call fowards to external numbers.  We running 6.0 SP2.   We can only make it work IF we remove the voicemail (call reroute) on the extension.
