Replacing Digital 8568 handsets with IP 5340s
« on: December 02, 2014, 02:11:46 AM »
Hi All,

We will soon be replacing our Digital 8568 handsets with the IP 5340 model. We use a 5000CP system running database version 6.0.9.57.

I have been able to set up a 5340 handset as a new phone, but I have not been able to figure out how to simply replace the existing digital handset.

For example, handset 111 is a Digital 8568 handset, with hunt groups, a voicemail mailbox, and so on. I would like to replace this handset with an IP phone, and carry all settings (and mailbox) across.

Is this possible? If somebody could point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Steelalloy,

Save the database to your PC.
Open the saved database.
Right-click on the digital phone you want converted.
Convert the phone to a 52XX/53XX phone.
Create or change the Keymap for the phone and apply it.
Save the database to your laptop.
Perform a DBTest on the converted phone database, fix any issues.
Upload the converted and tested database to your system.
Pin the new 5340 IP phone to the extension you converted.
Test the phone and fix any issues.
Perform a Backup Database Save to the system.
Perform a Database Save to your PC.
Go onto the next job or problem.

Thanks,

TE
