Help on my call forward to voicemail attempts
« on: October 23, 2014, 06:41:51 PM »
3300 MXe 2-Clustered Rel 4.2 / 10.2.0.26_2  EMB-VM 6-SX200 10-ASU

What I have is 4 - 5312 IP phones. Each has it's own DID.  Also, they each have the same hunt group lines appearing on them. The hunt group has a voice mailbox.

The users now want a voice mailbox, if they don't answer calls on their DID. Sorry, I don't have that many voice mailboxes to give everybody one.

I set up a phantom extension 7890 with a voice mailbox. Call Route it to always hit the voicemail.  Call route a phone on 1st or 2nd alternate to hit 7890 but it doesn't transfer?

I tried a 4025 extension with third party call forward to 7890. The Voicemail system answers, not 7890. If I call 7890 direct from a phone, I get the voicemail annoucement immediately.

Either I'm leaving something out or I need to try another solution.

Any comments are greatly appreciated.

Here is one thing you could try.
Keep your phantom but also program a Name Tag type Hunt Group of *7890 that is Call Reroute Always to VM
Then reroute your extensions to *7890

Failing this you may need to program a dummy ACD Path that interflows to *7890 after 1sec and reroute your extensions to the ACD Path.

When call forwarding to VM, the call will normally try to go the the VM box of the original extension called.
To get around this you can create an dummy ACD path and forward to it.
Set the ACD group to queue to the path for 1 second (that's important) and then interflow to VM.
The call will go into the VM box of the ACD path.
I don't think you'll be able to have a msg key for it, though.

Thanks for the help and threads here, I have this Partially Solved:

Created Mailbox 7899 and Name Tag HG *7899. For Ext 7000, I have Call Route 1st Alt and Call Route 2nd Alt to *7899.

If I call ext 7000, after no answer, the call goes to Mailbox 7899.... Great !

But, if ext 7000 is busy, the Voice mail system answers with "The person at ext 7000 is on the phone...the person at ext 7000 is on the phone", then I get Mailbox 7899 ?  Don't know why i'm getting the double message and then transfered.

Thanks for any assistance on this.

Often the fault of having bi lingual enabled on the VM but only english language set . So it says it in english twice.
