I believe that is what DND ON was referring to in the first place. When looking at a standard RJ25(C or W) you have 6 pins where 3 and 4 are the center pair, normally called the White/Blue pair or the Green/Red pair. The old Inter-Tel equipment would use the next outer pair of wires on pins 2 and 5 or the White/Orange or Black/Yellow pairs.
RJ11 is just the center pair pins or 3/4
RJ14 is two pairs 2/5 and 3/4
RJ25 is three pair 1/6, 2/5, and 3/4
Any USOC jack type with an X or S designator would be an 8 pin jack.
