3300 ICP still rings after hangup
« on: August 11, 2014, 05:36:09 AM »
Help ! We have this issue where when a caller calls in and then hangs up before the handset is lifted, the handset will ring and ring until answered.

When answered there is nobody there but it will ring for hours if not picked up, it also appears that the line is engaged while the phone is ringing.

 Any advice appreciated, thanks.

Can you tell us what the display says when this happens?
What does it say when it's ringing and then after it's answered?

Hey, are these analog by chance, as in POT's lines?

They are standard telephone lines.

On further investigation the phone rings as "analogue", when hung up by the caller it rings for another 4 rings and then stops ringing and the "analogue" on the LCD disappears.  Then about 1 minute later it starts ringing again and will ring until picked up although the call was terminated 50/60 seconds ago.

OK, they are analog. This is likely a timer at this point. Give me a few and either myself or someone else will let you know what to adjust.

Under CO Trunk Circuit Descriptor, make sure:

Guard Timer=800
Disc Timer=500
Seize Timer=10
Min Ring Det Timer=200
Flash Timer=300

These should be Yes, the rest No:

Ignore Far End Reversal
Ringing Expected
Fake Ans Sup After Out
Release Sup Exp...
Audio Inh Until Ans Sup.....
Ignore Ans Sup....
Perform Seize Test On...
Drop Dig Rec For Out....

Thanks, I am still having the same issue.  The settings I changed were

Ringing Expected
Release Sup Exp...
Audio Inh Until Ans Sup.....
Drop Dig Rec For Out...

Which were no and disc timer was 500, reduced to 250.

Settings were saved, I assume I do not need to reboot the system for the changes to take effect ?

Something else for you to try. Do you have or can you buy a cheap single line phone, go directly on one of the problem lines at the demark, and see if you have the same issue?
