Total Number of Trunks
« on: July 16, 2014, 10:05:20 PM »
How does the MCD 3300 calculate the total number of trunks in the system?

Our system displays 35 trunks from maintenance commands, but I only have the following programmed:

T1 digital trunks: numbers 201 to 223
2 analog trunks: numbers 1 and 2

A total of 25.  Where is the other 10 coming from?

There are lots of "trunks"... the embedded paging port is an E&M trunk, XNET (IP trunks) in a network situation, etc... Without seeing your system config it would be hard to tell

Thanks acejavelin.  That's exactly the answer I was looking for.  The total number of trunks that the system report isn't just the trunks that are programmed under "Trunks".

Do you know if the system also calculates the trunks in the embedded ASU? I think it's 4 LS trunks?

I think it may count the total number of trunks available to be programmed. So, if you go into Analog Trunk Assignment and Digital Trunk Assignment, and count the total number of PLID's, that should be your number. Also, Maintenance Command "system totals" may be of some help.

SYSTEM TOTALS shows the number of active trunks.  It my case it shows 25 (23 T1 + 2 analog).

Got a confirmation from MITEL that the system calculates ALL trunks (active + inactive).
