Change a phone and not loose voicemail ?
« on: June 04, 2014, 07:37:35 PM »
3300 MXe 2-Clustered Rel 4.2 / 10.2.0.26_2  EMB-VM 6-SX200 10-ASU

I have a phone extension that is a phantom on a pkm. I want to move the extension to a PLID where another extension is now. Every time I move a phone extension to another PLID, the voicemail gets lost. Is there a way for me to avoid this ? If I change the voicemail extension to a phone extension that doesn't have voicemail and then change it back after I play with the phone ?  Not sure that made sense.

Thanks!

Try this out before to be sure it works on a test mailbox.

Go into mailboxes form in voice mail - not under user and devices.
Change the mailbox number to something else along with the extension number.

Make the changes you need to on the extensions.

Edit the mailbox again and put the mailbox and extension back to the way they were.

It was a little funky but it worked.

I could not change the mailbox number, but I changed the extension number it was associated with.

After moving the phone, I went back to mailbox and changed the extension number to match the phone again.

Worked fine.

Thanks very much !
