Auto Attendant programming
« on: April 15, 2014, 06:16:07 PM »
3300 MXe 2-Clustered Rel 4.2 / 10.2.0.26_2  EMB-VM 6-SX200 10-ASU

I have a department that is moving out of the facility.  They were on a DID group, but now they will have local CO lines.
(I know, put them on IP phones, but that's not happening here for a while yet.)

My thought was to change the voicemail of the DID to menu node and route to a speed dial of the local CO number. I'm trying to program a test setup first, but it's not working.  So here's my steps.

I have an extension with voicemail (menu node)  Created the message "There is a new number, Please make a note, to transfer now, press 2.
Call route this extension to voicemail always.  The message plays when extension is dialed.
Now, Auto Attend wants an "extension" to send to when 2 is pressed, not a speed dial.  So I made a phantom extension.
But the Auto Attend won't accept the phantom extension ?

The phantom extension was going to route to the speed dial number and I would be good.

Also, am I doing this the hard way, not sure how I could do it any easier?

It says "extension", but it really wants a mailbox. Everything that is referenced in the AA needs to be a mailbox. Create a Transfer Only mailbox and you should be on your way.

Hi Matthew,

I went to try this out and my tiny brain just lost all track of it.

I'm thinking (pretty scary), DID w/Menu node, user selects number 2 as instructed. Number 2 in the menu node is 7811, the transfer only number.

I make a speed dial 7811 > new local CO number.

Am I on track yet ?

Thanks very much for your patience with this.

Right track,
now create 7811 as a transfer only mailbox in the voicemail side of things.
