Phone doesn't automatically select a line when receiver is lifted

We have a superset 420 that when we pick up the receiver we have manually select the line to use. How do I configure the phone to automatically select the line to use. The person who had this office had it setup for headset which I think is causing the problem but I did a move swap so his phone is in another office but it seems like port is configured still.

Sorry for the dumb question but I inherit this job with no training..

see if the headset feature is turned on on that phone.
Go the maintenance commands and type "loc fe ex <extn of phone>"   it will show you what features are active.
If headset=on, go to the feature code assignment form, find the headset off feature code and enter it on the phone.   
If there is no feature code, add a headset button to the phone and then toggle it.

Thanks that fixed it. No headset assigned. Programming the key for headset then removing it fix the problem.
