MCD Hipcom / BT SIP Trunks
« on: March 04, 2014, 09:43:01 AM »
Hello

You can fully expect millions of questions from me as I start meddling about with MCDs more and more :)

We have Two Hipcom/BT SIP trunks setup on our demo MCD V6 SP2.

Inbound calls are fine, voice both ways, brilliant.

When I try and dial out I get INVALID on the display.

I was told on my course a CCS trace would tell me everything I would ever need to know. Below is the CCS trace of me trying to dial out and I can't make head nor tail of it!

CCS Tracing is enabled for continuous output display
14:39:14 ROL DPN PEER NTESIPS   13 2C ISRM_I
           ;10;*1#*50*5650#*58A*Cc*4*5650#*100*T.Phone*1#
14:39:14 ROL DPN PEER NTESIPS   13 28 SSRM_I
           *19*Z#*58*CW*^y|w@@@@@UMPpP#*58*C6*001#
14:39:14 ROL DPN PEER NTESIPS   13 17 SSRM_C  *58*C4*4*1#07816000000
14:39:14 RIL DPN PEER NTESIPS   13 7 NIM     *51*3#
14:39:14 RIL DPN PEER NIL_PEER_ 13 17 CRM/CIM ;0;*58*C2*G*604#*234*@P#

Could anyone help me out with my issue?

Cheers

Dave

Dunno about the CCM traces but i bet you haven't programmed the ARS and routes correctly. Needs setting to use the SIP trunks (My NTE SIP trunks work perfectly on my office MCD...)  ;)

Hi,

The CCS trace is really from the days of DASS/DPNSS messaging, the MCD still uses that to interface with E1 circuits and SIP as well i guess.
From the CCS trace it shows you dialling out 07816000000?
But it does show a clear request message coming back to the system.
Which only shows that the call is being cleared down.

So you really need a SIP trace to see why you can't dial out through BT SIP.

From maintenance command enter SIP TCPDUMP ON

Make test call again

then SIP TCPDUMP OFF

The you need to ftp the pcap file from the MCD in the /vmail directory (I think)

Then you can open it with wireshark and we can see what is really happening with the call.

Is there an integration guide on Mitel On line for HIPCOM ? If so it would be wise to follow that to make sure you have all your settings correct on the MCD.

Hello, finally got some time to re-visit this!

OK, my ARS leading digit is 9, COR 1
ARS Digits dialled entries are numerous but specifically dialing out to my mobile I have Digits dialled 907, to follow 9, Route, termination Number 1
Routes, ARS Routes #1, Routing Medium SIP Trunks, SIP Peer Profile is NTESIPS, COR Group 1, Digit Modification Number 1
ARS Digit Modification Number 1 Absorbs 1 Digit

So I can't see anything glaryingly obvious with my ARS programming.

I turned on SIP TCPDUMP, FTP'd into the system and can't find the vmail directory!  :-\ /sysro/ is my top level, I'm wondering if there's a higher level FTP username and password to access the Vmail directory??

the only other thing I can think of is that its sending the wrong CLI to Hipcom. Set in the SIP peer profile.

I'm trying to figure the 907 with 9 to follow. Please explain what that is dialing. Thanks.

its dialling the national number for the uk.

So he  has set 907 ( and the 9 is absorbed) so it sends 07 (all mobile numbers in the UK) and 9 digits which are dialed. In this case it will sen 07816000000 which I don't think is a valid number unless Dave is very very lucky to have a number of 000000.....

I would do ity as 90 (digit 9 will be absorbed) and followed by 10 digits....

I will try to explain the issue better when I have more time but check the cli tables you have to configure the tables for incoming and outgoing with the correct digits, otherwise sip platform will reject call. I will have a look at a working one if I get time..

See three posts up. Incoming is Ok so the SIp Peer Profile for Incoming must be set Ok.. So its either the default CPN in SIP peer profile or something is set wrong in the peer profile options.

Unless its a bug in MCD V6 SP2?

Thank you everyone so far with your help on this.

Public access via DPNSS is set to Yes in my COS.

Managed to find the VMail directory with pmhaynes help :)

Got lots of register requests with replies back from the SIP platform 200 ok

If I try and dial out I send a request of INVITE my mobile number and the address of the platform
Reply back from platform with 100 Trying
Another reply back from Platform with 604 Does not exist anywhere

I'm assuming that's why I see the INVALID message on the phone display.

So I'm guessing the outgoing number I'm trying to contact may be sent out in the wrong format? possibly needing a +447XXXXXXXXX instead of 07XXXXXXXXX ??

Cheers.

If you post your SIP profile and network element settings and sip proxy settings up I can check them against my working system. If you would rather mail them let me know. If you want.

Just out of interest what are you using as your default CPN in your SIP  peer profile?

I think you have found the issue Mr X-Man, I checked the other night and the CPN field is blank!

Once i'm back in the office i'll configure it up and see if I can dial out.

Cheers!
