CFA being sent out the wrong trunk
« on: March 07, 2014, 12:35:15 AM »
Have got a situation where a call comes in on one public trunk (in this instance SIP), to a users phone who has a CFA set to go out to an external number. All of this is normal so far. THe problem is that the system has a second set of public trunks on them, ISDN, and the call is going out via that instead of the originating trunk. This causes the call to appear as though it is coming from the wrong location (two sites, same company, but different number ranges).

The ISDN and the SIP trunks, as well as the extensions themselves have been separated out to different tenant groups, and users are blocked from calling out the wrong trunk by interconnects. So it leaves me pondering why the call is able to go out on the non originating trunk.

Has anyone come across something like this before?

1st, I would look at the interconnect on that extension to make sure that the settings are correct for that DN.

How do you route the calls to the proper trunks, COR and route lists? If so, check the COR. If you are using a different leading digit make sure that is correct on the set's CFA settings.

Do you restrict interconnect between the SIP and ISDN links? The system may be looking at the settings for the SIP trunks instead of the DN since it is relaying the call through.

If it really doesn't matter about which trunks other than the CPN, you could always make entries for the trunks to send out the proper number with Associated Directory Numbers or CPN sub.

I think the easiest way to deal with this would be to use interconnect restriction.
Give a unique interconnect to both trunk groups and block them from being able to use each other.

Thanks for the replies. Turns out that all of the interconnects were set up originally, and then SDS had come along and reverted the form back to default somewhere along the line, so that explains why everything was looking ok, but wasn't doing the right thing.

Turned off sharing of the interconnect form and then that will stop it from happening again!
