Superset 420 display brightness
« on: February 21, 2014, 12:57:16 PM »
We have some superset 420 phones that have the dimmest of displays.  I am not sure if it is due to age or what.   If you look at the display Head-on, it's very difficult to read.   I have used the volume up key to raise the brightness as much as possible.
Is there anything else that can be done?

Thank you.

Some Superset 420 phones were known to do this over a long time of use (powered up), the LCD panel just gets, for lack of a better term, "weak," and fades out.

Honestly the only thing you can do is replace the sets, preferably with 4000 series phones as these seem to stand up better over time compared to the 400 series phones.

Pretty sure the SS 400 series was discontinued well over 10 years ago, they have surpassed their normal usable life span, time for some new ones I think.

I had a feeling it was due to the age of the stations. Some of the 400 series phones seem worse than others.  You are also correct that the 4000 series phones (4025s) seem to have much better displays.   Unfortunately it doesn't look like they will be replacing them any times soon.

Thanks.
