Inbound call dial tone
« on: February 14, 2014, 10:32:52 AM »
Hi,

We have the Inter-Tel 5000 PABX and currently experiencing issues with the inbound dial tone.

When someone calls into the office the dial tone played back to the user sounds as though they are calling abroad, not the standard UK ringing tone. I believe this may be down to our PBX answering the call immediately and then routing based on the day or night service being required.

Has anyone else experienced this and can it be changed?

Thanks

Hi,

Yes when the system answers the ringback isn't the normal UK tone you would expect.  I put a design change request in a while ago.  Back then there was no plan to change it, the work around was music on hold!

Regards

Chris

Yep, it's still the case. They even give you a UK ringing tone WAV on the course so you can use it once you've sold the customer a File-Based MOH license.

Not sure why they would bother to create a ringback tone that sounds almost like a UK ring tone, but not quite. Is it even a native ring tone for any country?
