Adding a PRI
« on: January 23, 2014, 08:17:00 AM »
MXe 6.0SP2
I must be having a "brain fart" so I thought I'd bounce this here.
I need to move a PRI from one controller to another.
I programmed it up, plugged in the span but if I do a "Mess Sub" it shows "Scan".
The system currently has 3 T1s (non PRI).
Does the system require a reboot to add a PRI?

Ralph

You shouldn't have to reboot, after you set the ISDN characteristics it should work within a matter of seconds.

Yeah I agree, no reboot required, should just come up quicker than you can click to the next form!

So you have 3 T1 and you add a pri?

Do you fill the ISDN Protocol?

Is the LED is on for that port?
Just found a note in the help: manbusy the first link before programming the second one.
Can't remember what but there is some kind of limitation on what you can mix on the same card.
Using dual framers?

From the help.

If you program the second T1 or E1 port at a later time, any calls established on port 1 will be disconnected when you configure port 2. Manbusy the first port before you begin to program the second port.

If you do a State of the PLID

Does it say somethings like no cards installed at request slot?

If yes, look at ISDN Protocol form, you probably forget to protocol (DMS100 or other)

What is your interface for the PRI? At one time you couldn't mix protocols on a NSU. Both circuits needed to be either PRI based or T1 based.

It's embedded.
Unfortunately I haven't been able to look at it since I posted the question.
Don't know when I will at this point so it may be a non-issue now.

Back on site Saturday.
It was the protocol.
I was too tired to see it before.

Thanks for all your  input.
