Looking for a work around on Privacy Release
« on: November 07, 2013, 08:51:35 AM »
I'm looking for a way that I can set up a phone that has Privacy Released for some keys but not all.

For example:
I have a hunt group of lines for a main number.   Multiple people answer these lines.   The problem is one person will answer and a half second latter the second person barges in on the call accidentally.

But...
I also have other lines where I do want the users to be able to barge in on the same phone.   For example: MRD and ARD lines.

I had hopped that I could set up a phone phone with a COS that disallowed privacy release and use key appearance of that phone for the main lines.  Nope.  It appears that the COS that controls this is applied to the phone where the line is active.

Our competition can set this feature key by key / line by line so we're trying to answer that objection.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Ralph

I wonder if you could try a mix of Multi-Call and Key-System. Multi-Call for the ones that shouldn't be barged in on.

Multi-call may be the only solution.  Unfortunately it doesn't allow the user to put the call on hold and have someone else pick it up.
Same for remote hold pick up.

You could use group park for the multicalls to be picked up elsewhere. But that just makes it more difficult for people to use and adds another button.

Call park wouldn't work in this case.
The specifically want to intrude on some lines but not others.
Looks like the only solution is to have privacy on the phones that have the main incoming lines on them and they have to "deal" with not being able to intrude on the other lines.
