Mitel 5000 - SIP Trunking to Avaya IP Office
« on: October 28, 2013, 04:06:47 PM »
Hi,

I wonder if anyone can help :)

A colleague of mine has been tasked with configuring SIP trunks between a Mitel 5000 and an Avaya IP office. I have never done it before and neither has he, so he logged a call with Mitel tech support for some advice and they have basically told him they don't know anyone that has ever done it before, so can't guarantee it will work. They gave him a few 'pointers' but basically left it at that and said if it doesn't work, they can offer no further assistance.

Has anyone on here got any experience with this, that could perhaps shed some light on it?

Cheers
Lee

We've done it and it works very well.

We even created a technical step by step document  :)

Looking at your profile picture you may be local to us and a direct competitor so i'm not sure I should pass it on  :)

Any chance you would like to share this document? I would like a copy but the preferred method would be to start a new thread that we would sticky in the 5000 area like this:

[HOWTO] 5000 SIP Networking to Avaya IP Office

then that becomes the thread for all discussions related to that topic.

Side note here: I get a little frustrated with PBX forums in general in this area, there is no organization, FAQ, sticky threads with pointer info, ect, like most Android or other ujser support forums have... just need to start somewhere.  ;)

Hi Dave,

Thanks for that - but NTE are of no concern to the company I work for :) Much larger outfit.

I have worked with guys who used to work at NTE though.

Thanks for your help.

I'm guessing you either work for Talk Talk or Daisy then??

I'll post the doc later as i'm currently on a MCD course at Mitel :)

Any Chance of this document ever being released. It seems like there is no documentation or how to's for getting these working.
