Hotdesking on a 3300 ICP
« on: October 17, 2013, 02:04:21 PM »
Probably a noob question this one!  :o

A phone is set as a hot desking phone, a user wants to log in to that phone with their own DN, does the user have to be set as a hotdesking user also?

If so how do you do it as the option to change it under Users is greyed out?

They have 5 hot desking licenses and are apparently not using any of them at the minute??

What version of software are you running?
Normally only external hotdesk users are licensed.
When you are a hotdesk user you don't have device type associated as you can log in to any device that allows it.

With hot desking there is the physical phone and then there is the virtual phone (hot desk user)

The physical phone can still be a regular user but his COS allows a hot desk user to log in.
So if you need a user to be able to log into other phones then the user must be a hot desk phone and not a physical.

Under user and devices remove the device type and select hot desk user.
