Renumbering extensions to seven digits
« on: October 09, 2013, 01:17:47 PM »
We've changed our numbering plan to 7 digits.  For example, users with extensions 1234 are now 5551234.  For our sites with a few users, doing this from the GUI isn't an issue.  But we have sites with over 180 users.  Is there a better and quicker way to renumber the extensions? On the SX2000 the command MOVE RENUMBER <old number > TO <new number> was handy but it no longer works on the MCDs.  It displays "Command not supported."

I'm thinking system speed calls. Example: 5551234>1234. Can anyone see why this wouldn't work? Thanks.

I thought about that.  But our system numbering standard dictates we use speed calls for incoming DID conversions.

You could export the current form, make the changes in excel and import the new numbers. If you are using embedded VM you will need to make sure you have changed the mailbox length from 4 to 7 digits so that when it tries to change the mailbox number it won't make the import fail.

Also need to make changes in any applications. Dial 0 out of Nupoint or UCA.
