SX-200 hunt group overflow to mailbox
« on: July 05, 2013, 11:49:22 AM »
This maybe an old story but I need help. I have a small hunt group that I want to overflow to a mailbox. If I put the voice mail access code in the overflow of my hunt group the caller hits the front end of the voice mail and gets the general greeting. Is there some way to send the caller to a mail box? Thanks for your help.

Do you want it to go to a specific mailbox, or a mailbox that is the same as the hunt group? If the mailbox is the same as the hunt group, meaning HG is x300 and the Mailbox is 300, just overflowing to the main VM hunt group number will work. If you want to go to a specific mailbox, how that is accomplished will vary depending on the Vmail system you are using.

Thanks for the response however as I indicated using the voice mail hunt group as the overflow point the caller is dumped into the main greeting.

I'm using a Mitel  Express Messenger. Calls that overflow to it only present the calling line ID not forwarded from number. That is so the overflow point knows who is calling. Plus the call isn't forwarded. I don't think it matters what voice mail I'm using. The Mitel sends the same info. I'm starting to think this can't be done.

It can be done... the mechanics of it escape me anymore though, the only SX200's we have are in hotels and are fairly simple installations so I haven't done stuff like this with this platform for years. Have you tried overflowing it to a phantom extension that is CFA or rerouted to VM?

And BTW, the VM platform would make a huge difference, Centigram (Nupoint/Mitel Messenger), and many other stand-alone servers have ways around this using alternate extensions. Although embedded and Express Messenger are essentially the same thing.

The voice mail used won't change the fact that Mitel is sending caller ID (xxx) 123-4567 to the voice mail port.
FYI:
•   Overflow is not permitted if the overflow point has forwarding active.

Try overflowing to an acd path that interflows to a phantom forwarded extension. It should end up in the phantoms mailbox.
