Phantom ignores Outgoing Extension
« on: July 05, 2013, 12:35:37 AM »
This is an HX Controller running 6.0.  Customer needed to have a single digit in the CRA forward to an external number, so I created a phantom that has Call Forward All set on it.  Did remote extension programming - 8, then the number.   It works great except for this: The phantom always calls out on the first CO Trunk Group programmed on the system no matter what I set in the phantom's Associated Extensions - Outgoing Extension. Is there a way to get it to obey the Outgoing Extension? I tried setting ARS as the Outgoing Extension too but it also ignores that, and uses the first CO Trunk Group. I've never had to worry about which trunk group a phantom uses until today so I have no idea if 5.1 SP4 did this too.   Thanks for any and all thoughts.   Happy 4th to all!

Could you not use the Trunk Group Number e.g. 92002, rather than using 8?

That is a good thought;  I did try that.  The trouble is after putting in Feature Code 355 (Call Forward All Calls), it prompts for another Feature Code.  Extensions numbers won't take (I did try anyway) , so you have to put in 8 and then it finally asks for the destination phone number. It works good, it's just on this particular system I really need it to use a different trunk group than the one it always picks.

It works on my system.
359,phantom,passcode,355,TG,Dest,#

After 355 it prompts
Quote
Enter Forward
Dest:
Then after entering the TG
Quote
Enter Phone #:
This is a 5.1 SP4 system

Just upgraded my demo system to 6.0

I still get the same result as above.
Maybe someone else can chime in. (BTW I am running an Australian DB)

You probably know this already, but what "8" means is defined within the parameters of the station.  Under ASSOCIATED EXTENSIONS/OUTGOING EXTENSION you set what will happen if you dial 8 for outside.  92000 will use ARS, 92001 will use TG 1, 92002 will use TG 2 etc (assuming default numbering still in place).  So if you put the desired TG in here dialing 8 should use that group.  Also check to be sure your phantom is in the OUTGOING ACCESS list for that TG.

Use On-Line Monitor to view the Forward Information on the phantom. It should be Forward Destination PP040 (zero four zero), Forward Username ARS, Forward Description ARS Device.

The records sometime get locked, and won't update via remote programming.
