Caller ID - Second Line
« on: May 27, 2009, 01:55:52 PM »
I have a few users here on our 3300 where the caller ID has stopped working on their second line.

They have their main extension 8xxx with a first alternate of 5xxx.  The 5xxx is set at a single line on another button.  The call rolls over but no caller ID.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

-Evan

On a two line set, I don't think you will get CLID on incoming calls.  While it's ringing it will say "Forwarded from" and then show the name.  You can see the number when you press the superkey and the line.

What type of phone are you using?

I would agree with Ralph, but you say that it was working before. If this is the case, check the COS of the set to ensure that 'Display calling id on multi line set keys'. This will display the calling ID in the display for about 5 seconds (Default).

But if a call is forwarded, it would show forwarded from xxxx.

Let us know, how it goes.

I do believe it could be a COS. We are using 5330's.

This is a new start up company that i am working for. When our first 3 offices were setup each with their own 3300 in a cluster; COS' were different on each system.  We have asked Mitel to make things uniform, and perhaps this is where things got messed up.

I am a Systems Engineer for my company, far from a Telecom Engineer.  What is the best way do you think i can get some good knowledge on the system?
There is such an immense amount of areas that can be configured, i would have never thought to look in COS.  Would most features like this be under COS?

Thanks for the help!

I will keep you posted and let you know the outcome.

Well i logged into the system tonight because i wanted to see the COS.  Anyhow...Display caller ID on multi call/keylines is set to yes.  The timer however was only set to 5...i assume this is how long the ID is displayed.  Am i correct?

Everything is the same.  No caller ID on the first alternate roll-over.
We have our tech coming in shortly.
