Browser for iPad to program Mitel 3300
« on: April 16, 2013, 12:03:22 PM »
So my company has issued me an iPad... why I don't really know, supposedly to get my emails, calendars, etc., thought that was what my smartphone was for but it's just another piece of hardware to lug around right now. Anybody know of a browser for the iPad that identifies itself as IE and works for programming the 3300? Someone recommended Bolt Browser or Perfect Browser but I haven't had a chance to dig into it yet.

That is an option, but I hope to have some time to play with it today and see if I can make something work. Will post an update in a day or so.

haven't found anyting to work on an ipad yet. If you are trying to turn the iPad into a tool I will recommend an app called "Get Console". Allows telnet via Wifi and if you buy the cable it will allow you to connect to the RS232 port on front of the 3300 for console access ( or to access an HP or Cisco layer 2 ). Only from their web site that they only have the connector for the older iPad interface.

I haven't found a browser that will work either. Doesn't the next MCD release have Firefox support? Maybe something will work then. Or just some good old standards compliant coding would be welcomed.

I had not heard that, FireFox support for the programming interface? That would be awesome!

I tried about 10 different browsers today, all failed with about the same message.  :(

Someone mentioned a chrome plugin that works the other day. I have no idea if chrome or the plugin are available for iPad, however.

I saw it on the recent 6.0 sp1 bulletin. Firefox 17.0 or later is supported.

how is it detecting user agent changers?

avant browser works too ( use the classic rendering mode under options). it will even run from a flash drive.

maxthon works too (change the user agent).

I don't think you will have any luck as I think even with the Chrome and Firefox IE plugins on a normal PC you still need IE installed.
The plugins will just use IE rendering engine (Whatever that is) but without the system files I don't think it will work.

I found several browsers that let me change the user agent on the iPad, but whenever I tried to open the ESM login page, they all popped up a message saying something like "There is a problem with your installation Internet Explorer..."
