Mitel Mxe II - Both Hd with Soft Fault
« on: February 13, 2013, 12:04:59 PM »
Hi Guys,
Congratulations to all for this forum!
I have a problem ....
I have a customer wiht Mitel MXE II Raid that has two disks in soft fault.
Version of software release is: 9.0.2.36.
I have export the maintenance all logs, and i see that the first disk report the fault error at 18/12/12 and the second disk at 09/01/13 with the same reason.
Actually the system does not have a problem or degrated services.

Both fault leds flashing in orange.

Do you have any idea on how to solve the problem?
With a restart of 3300 can i resolve this error?
Or i need to replace both disk and reinstalling software and restore data into the first disk and successfully make a mirroring for the second disk?  :(

Can anyone help me?  :'(
Thanks!
Steve

Is the system doing a daily DBMS check and if so what are the results? If it isn't can you run one?

Hi
thanks for your answers.
I try to run the command DBMS Full Check and send you the result.
Can a reboot fix it?

It may but I think it won't, you might need a complete shut down. The other option might be to replace one hard drive and mirror it. If it reports no errors, then replace the other and mirror it. I would run the dbms check first.

Does a complete Shutdown and restart of controller can resolve a problem of soft error into the 2 Hard Drive?
Thanks a lot!
Steve

Do you have a spare HD?  I would change one disk then try a reboot after.

Is it a SSD Drive?

Hi August,
yes I have a spare HD PATA for Mxe.
You say that:
- remove one of the hard drive with the soft error
- change hd
- mirroring disk
and then reboot???

Thanks.
Steve

You don't need to reboot.

remove one of the hard drive with the soft error
- change hd
- mirroring disk

When the mirroring is finish, you should have only one disk with soft errors.  If that the case, change the second HD.

Resume:
remove one of the hard drive with the soft error

When the mirroring is finish, you should have only one disk with soft errors.  If that the case, change the second HD.
