smdr out 500hx 5.1 to a serial connection
« on: March 18, 2013, 08:56:10 AM »
I have a customer that uses ADP as there call accounting company and they will only accept data from a serial port.  What is the beast way to set this up or hand it off?  The mitel only listens and does not dump to a device plugged in.  Tried serial to net work adapter, could not make it work. ???

I haven't been able to get this to work either, because to start the SMDR data to flow, a login has to occur and I haven't found a IP-serial adapter that can do that... http://blog.denwa.uk.com/mitel-5000-smdr/

As I might have said elsewhere, this was what I had to do for a recent customer

You will need to run some middleware that logs into the port and sends it back out to a serial port.

I used aggsoft Data Logger Suite and Virtual Null Modem to connect a customers call logging application. The Logger Suite connected to the Mitel via IP and sent it back out to a virtual com port which was looped back to the one the customers smdr application looked to for data. They had to adjust their data locations by one place to over come the difference from the axxess stream.
