Visible Number
« on: March 04, 2013, 08:51:34 AM »
Hi,

Just a query, hopefully a quick one for someone.

The majority of our phones show the phone numbe when dialling an external source, such as a mobile etc. We have a few that dont show this and only show the switchboard number. How do we change this to show the actual phone number itself, not the switchboard?

Thanks in advance

Check the CPN substitution form to see if those phones are defined.

Have looked in the Associated number directory and there is nothing at all in there.

Not totally upto speed with Mitel so you may need to bear with me :)

I have the extensions of a few that work and one that doesnt, so if you could tell me what i need to compare then I might be able to find it...might

There are a couple of ways to do what you want.
The associated number directory form is a quick and easy way for you to do this.

In the associated number directory form use the drop down and select CPN substitution.
Then in the directory number put in the extension you want a different caller ID for.  i.e. 5555.
Then in the associated number put in the caller ID you want to show.

Found it I think, but would like someone to confirm this wont break anything?

I went to the DID Ranges for CPN Substitution. The number range was for example 10 to 50, my number was 9. So outside it, if I change it, will it break anything? As it seems to work

You should be fine. I like your style though. Change it first, ask questions later!

Anything in the range will report its number. Anything outside will report the default.
