UCA Presence Missing
« on: January 21, 2013, 03:39:13 PM »
all the presence on our UCA clients are missing.  I restarted the UCA server hoping it would come back, but to no success.

Any advice on why it disappeared and how to get it back?

Hi,
How many users do you have on your server?

Sorry for the delay in response.  I have 90 users on the UCA server.

Here is my latest.  If I call someone then after that, their presence is working?  Strange

Have you set the users as favorites? When you add them to your favorites list it allows you to see their status. Just right click the user > Add to Favorites.

Any logs on the system? Might be a time for a 3300 reboot however if a call to the users reestablishes presence I am not sure a 3300 reboot will help. Any software upgrades recently, any network changes. Think the presence requires the 3300 to establish "monitors" in the 3300 for the extensions on the system. There is a maintenance command to see how many monitors are in use on the 3300. Can you see if you are running out? There is a limitation on how many monitors the 3300 can have. Even though you only have 90 UCA clients the 3300 opens the monitors against all the most of the physical sets. We ran into an issue on a MCD 4 site where we opened too many monitors and got all kinds of alarms. Required upgrade to MCD 5 which can open double the number of monitors.
