IP DECT 5610
« on: January 18, 2013, 07:42:11 AM »
Hello

Currently we are on version 1.00 of the IP DECT Firmware and I would like to upgrade this so I can import a .csv of the telephone directory. We have a reseller for our Mitel system and unfortunately they won't let me try this by myself.
I was wondering if anyone had the documentation and firmware so I can do this and also the method to upload a .csv in to the dect.
Any Help would be appreciated

This is all you should need. READ the release notes.

Thanks this is great!

seems that the firmware I have on the dect is 1.00 and the release notes state upgrade is from
1.04 to 2.00. Is there a 1.04 firmware?

Thanks for all your help!

Awesome! and thnaks very much!

I upgraded our firmware by pointing the Dect to out Mitel3300 which was hosting the firmware files in the
/sysro/tftp folder.

However, I can't seem to import the phonebook.csv file.
The DECT detects .cfg files but never the csv.
I made the .csv using excel 2010.

Any ideas?

If you have put it in the same place then it should detect it the next time it polls the tftp server, have you tried a reboot of the stand?

Yes I have rebooted..

I also tested with a .cfg file of a handset. The DECT successfully polls for this but never the csv file.
I was told to upgrade to 2.00 and I have upgraded and the import still doesnt work.

Super confused now..Is there anything else I'm missing?

Is it the format of the csv itself? Like in office doc files are docx maybe tyhere is some cahnge to csv file types?

CSV (comma delimited) format: Saves a workbook as a comma-delimited text file for use on another Windows operating system, and ensures that tab characters, line breaks, and other characters are interpreted correctly. Saves only the active sheet.

CSV (Macintosh) format: Saves a workbook as a comma-delimited text file for use on the Macintosh operating system, and ensures that tab characters, line breaks, and other characters are interpreted correctly. Saves only the active sheet.

CSV (MS-DOS) format: Saves a workbook as a comma-delimited text file for use on the MS-DOS operating system, and ensures that tab characters, line breaks, and other characters are interpreted correctly. Saves only the active sheet.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Not sure which you should use except it won't be the mac format. I assume you can open the saved file in excel itself? I'm just guessing now....

I have tried all csv formats from 2003-2010 and also the ms-dos format and nothing works hmmm...

Im thinking now maybe it has something to do with the .cfg file there is a "tag" which says
%common_phonebook%:0  i've tried with a 1 in place but still no luck. I wonder if there is a value I need to insert.

It's obviously polling the tftp as the firmware was pushed to handsets and it also reads the .cfg file.

Any more suggestions?

phonebook.csv: populates the handset phonebook with contacts

%MANAGEMENT_TRANSFER_PROTOCOL%:0 //0-TFTP, 1-HTTP

Any errors reported?

Hello

Please find below results on the debug page. It says that the phonebook is downloaded but can not see this on the handset. Under management transfer protocol it just has a 0 next to it. Maybe someone can send me a template of the csv file they use because I'm thinking it must be the layout of the content:

Phonebook Configuration File
The names and numbers in the phonebook configuration file must be enclosed in quotation marks and separated by commas. To create a phonebook configuration file using Microsoft Excel:
1. Open the Excel application.
2. Enter the names and numbers of the phonebook entries in separate columns of the Excel workbook. For example:
3. Save the Excel file as a comma separated file (.csv).
4. Copy the phonebook.csv file to the tftp or http file server. The next time that the stand polls the tftp server it detects the new phonebook.csv file and downloads it to the handsets.

see attachment for screen shot.

Just another thought, are you getting the contacts icon in the main menu display?

I'm fresh out of ideas then...sorry.

Last option is make sure you have the correct firmware on the phone and in the base because I notice this in the debug file;

0101000000 [W](01):Load of Config/08000f44b02c.cfg from 172.22.129.5 failed
